Favorite Songs: “Lover Girl” by Laufey, “Red Scarf” (如果可以) by WeiBird, “Kung Pao Chicken” (宮保雞丁) by David Tao are my favorite songs recently. These songs carry interesting stories, and their arrangements are also very unique. To me, these songs are like candy or snacks. When I feel tired, listening to them often makes me feel happy.
1. What was the first physical album you ever bought?▼ ▲
It was “Huan” (煥) by Jianci Tan. At the time, it included a song I really liked called “Mona Lisa,” so I decided to purchase the album.
2. Which singer has had the biggest influence throughout your entire youth?▼ ▲
I think the singer who had the biggest influence on my life is Adele. When I was younger, I often heard her songs playing on the radio in the car. Now, I also hope to become a singer like her, to be influential and bring joy to the audience.
3. What is your most memorable singing experience? What happened at the time?▼ ▲
My most memorable singing experience was when I sang “The Distance Between Us” (說散就散) by JC, and I had an obvious voice crack. It was my first time competing, and I was extremely nervous, which led to that mistake. But I gained a lot of valuable experience from it, and I hope that every performance I do in the future will be better than my first!
4. Do you have any warm-up routines or little rituals before singing/performing?▼ ▲
Sometimes I go on the treadmill for a bit, or I exercise earlier in the day. Light exercise can help relax the vocal cords and improve performance~
5. Which song have you played on repeat the most in your headphones?▼ ▲
“Lover Girl” by Laufey. It’s really good!
6. What is your favourite lyric? Why?▼ ▲
My favourite lyric is: “What have I done to deserve your love? Why do you always respond to my every need?” (我有何德何能值得你珍惜,為何你對我有求必應?) from “Butterfly” by David Tao. This song gives me a lot of strength because every time I hear it, I think of my mom. I can't even express how grateful I am that she's always there for me whenever I need her.
7. If you had to use one song to sum up your past year, which would you choose?▼ ▲
“Kung Pao Chicken” (宮保雞丁) by David Tao. The song portrays a relaxed environment and describes life from a different, joyful perspective. I feel like my past year has been very similar to that vibe, and I hope this good mood continues!
8. What do you think is your most memorable trait? ▼ ▲
Probably my round face, I think it makes me look a bit like a kid. (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)
9. If you could perform with any singer, who would it be and why?▼ ▲
I would love to perform with Adele! Her voice is incredibly moving, and I've always wanted to learn from her performance style and music.
10. Use three adjectives to describe your voice.▼ ▲
Rich, soothing, and interesting.
11. What does music mean to you?▼ ▲
Music is an essential part of my life, and I can never imagine living without it. Whether I'm in the car, resting, studying, or even taking a nap, I always play music. Sometimes it's instrumental, sometimes songs with lyrics. Music is a very important part of my life.
